How many treatments for the best result?

DermaPlaning clears away old skin and stimulates the regeneration of new skin. You may be advised to add a chemical peel to your dermaplaning treatment. Right after dermaplaning, your skin is able to deeply absorb and benefit from a chemical peel in a way it can’t at other times. Depending on the hair, and skin type, we recommend one treatment per month, a series of 8-12 treatments and maintenance treatments every 2-3 months for permanent hair reduction and improved skin brightening.

The number of treatments is tailored to your concerns and skin care desires. Visible improvements after 4-6 treatments. Your skin will feel a bit rough, and you can expect a bit of redness in your skin between 1 - 3 days depending on the intensity of the treatment. This is the perfect treatment for congested skin and normal skin. The amount of treatments also depends on your lifestyle. Lighter skin resurfacing treatments have less downtime however you will need more treatments on a monthly basis to get your results. If you don’t mind more downtime then we can do more intensive treatments with fewer sessions. 

Prepare before your appointment

  • Take care to avoid excessive sun exposure two weeks before and after your treatment.

  • If you have active cold sores or feel the tingle of a cold sore coming on, wait until you’re clear and tingle-free before having your treatment.

  • Cosmetic Injecting clients should leave two weeks between their last Cosmetic Injecting treatment and any other skin treatment.

Aftercare 

 

  • Things to avoid: Do not use any active ingredient skincare on the skin for the following 24 hours. For example AHAs, BHAs, and Retinols. Do not exfoliate the skin for 1 week. Stay out of the sun for 24 hours.

  • As the skin heals, apply gentle cleansers and unscented moisturizers to the skin to minimize side effects.

  • Once 2 full days have passed, you might want to gradually add products back into your daily beauty routine instead of doing your usual regimen, especially if you use products that have strong anti-aging formulas.

  • To protect your skin, you’ll also need to avoid swimming pools, saunas, and situations where you might sweat heavily, including intense workouts at the gym.

  • Ideally, you should wait at least 48 hours after facial treatment before you wear makeup. This gives the skin time to heal.
