The treatment you’re curious about and find the answers to the most commonly asked questions.

Q; How to prepare for SHR laser hair removal?

Day of appointment – Don't apply oils, moisturizers, or creams to your skin.

1- 2 days before – Closely shave the treatment area.

Three days before -  Gently exfoliate to help remove dead skin cells from hanging out around the opening of your hair follicles.

Seven days before – avoid chemical peels, laser resurfacing treatments or lightening cream.

Avoid tanning two weeks before and after, including fake tan and sun exposure.

Never remove your hair by waxing, epilating or tweezing, as the hair follicle must be present for the laser to attract pigment.

Q: What happens if you don't shave before your laser hair removal appointment?

Lasers heat hair to damage the stem cells in the hair follicles to inhibit new growth, but if the hair is too long, the laser can singe your hair and burn your skin.

It is essential to shave before your laser hair removal session, twenty-four hours before it is recommended.

Q: What should I do to prepare for SHR laser hair removal?

A: Before SHR laser hair removal, avoiding sun exposure and tanning for at least 4-6 weeks is essential to reduce the risk of skin damage. The treatment area should be clean and free of lotions, oils, or makeup. Shaving the treatment area is usually recommended a day or two before the session to ensure the hair follicles effectively absorb the laser energy.

Q: What is SHR laser hair removal?

A: SHR (Super Hair Removal) is a type of laser hair removal technology that uses a gentle and gradual heating process to target the hair follicles and prevent future hair growth. It is a painless and effective method for reducing unwanted body and facial hair.

Q: How does SHR laser hair removal work?

A: SHR laser hair removal works by delivering low-energy laser pulses into the skin, which are gradually heated to a temperature that effectively targets the hair follicles. The heat generated by the laser destroys the follicles, inhibiting their ability to grow new hairs. The gradual heating process of SHR technology minimizes discomfort and reduces the risk of skin damage compared to traditional laser hair removal methods.

Q: What body areas can be treated with SHR laser hair removal?

A: SHR laser hair removal can treat virtually any body area, including the face, neck, chest, back, arms, underarms, bikini area, legs, and more. Common treatment areas include the upper lip, chin, bikini line, and underarms.

Q: How many sessions of SHR laser hair removal are usually needed for optimal results?

A: The number of SHR laser hair removal sessions needed for optimal results can vary depending on several factors, including the individual's skin type, hair colour, and thickness, as well as the treatment area. On average, most people require a series of 12 sessions spaced 4 - 6 weeks apart for best results. However, the exact number of sessions needed may vary and can be determined during a consultation with a qualified provider.

Q: What are the differences between the buttocks and the behind treatment area?

The buttocks are the whole bum cheek region, and Behind is the anus area.

Q: Is SHR laser hair removal painful?

A: SHR laser hair removal is generally considered to be virtually painless. The gradual heating process of SHR technology helps to minimize discomfort compared to traditional laser hair removal methods, which can cause more intense sensations of heat and discomfort. However, individual sensitivity to pain can vary, and some people may experience mild discomfort during treatment. A cooling gel or device may be used to further minimize any discomfort.

Q: Who is a good candidate for SHR laser hair removal?

A: SHR laser hair removal is typically suitable for individuals with light to dark skin tones and hair colours, including black, brown, and lighter shades. However, it may not be as effective for individuals with very light or blonde hair as the laser energy is primarily absorbed by melanin, the pigment that gives colour to hair and skin.

Q: Are there any side effects or risks associated with SHR laser hair removal?

A: SHR laser hair removal is generally considered safe by a qualified and experienced provider. However, like any medical procedure, there are potential risks and side effects, including temporary redness, swelling, itching, or mild discomfort in the treated area. These side effects are temporary and subside within a few hours to a few days. More severe side effects, such as skin burns, blistering, or changes in skin colour, are rare but can occur if the treatment is not performed correctly or if the individual does not follow proper aftercare instructions.

Q: Is SHR laser hair removal safe?

A: Yes, SHR laser hair removal is considered safe when performed by a qualified and experienced technician. However, like any cosmetic procedure, there are risks and potential side effects such as skin irritation, redness, and swelling.

Q: Is there any downtime after SHR laser hair removal?

A: There is typically no downtime after SHR laser hair removal. Patients may experience some mild redness or swelling, but this usually subsides within a few hours.
