WHAT IS PROFHILO ?

A: Profhilo® is a revolutionary 'beneath the skin' hyaluronic acid moisturising treatment made with the patented NAHYCO® technology.

This results in a unique hyaluronic acid injectable gel, which has a prolonged stimulating activity on the dermal cells. When injected into the skin, Profhilo® stimulates the skin cell receptors to counteract skin laxity and improve and restore the skin's firmness.

One of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market, Profhilo® not only boosts and hydrates the skin but also remodels ageing and sagging tissue.

Unlike fillers, Profhilo diffuses into the skin to boost your overall complexion rather than staying put in one area to fill creases, plump cheekbones, or lips.

The treatment is suitable for men and women and offers skin benefits for patients of all ages.

Q: How does PROFHILO® work?

A: Ultra-pure hyaluronic acid is precisely injected into the area being treated. Unlike wrinkle-reducing and dermal filler treatments, Profhilo® stimulates collagen and elastin, attracting water in the deeper layers of the skin.

As a stabilised product, the activity on dermal cells will last longer than that of a non-stabilised gel. During this time, four different types of collagen and elastin are stimulated by the slow release of hyaluronic acid.

The stimulation results in significant tissue improvement. Therefore we cannot say that Profhilo® is a skin booster as it also has a significant tightening/lifting effect on the tissue.

This allows slow release into the top layer of the skin (epidermis) to hydrate while stimulating the production of plumping elastin and collagen, which creates a volumising and lifting effect in the lower layer (dermis), and in turn, tightens the skin.

Q: Are there any contraindications for Profhilo?

A: Profhilo is contraindicated for individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergy to hyaluronic acid or any of the ingredients in Profhilo. Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals should also avoid Profhilo treatment. It is essential to disclose any relevant medical history and medications being taken to us before undergoing Profhilo treatment.

Q: How many Profhilo treatments are needed?

A: The number of Profhilo treatments needed may vary depending on the individual's skin condition and desired results. However, two treatments are commonly recommended, spaced 4-6 weeks apart, followed by maintenance treatments every six months to maintain the results.

Q: Is Profilo better than anti-wrinkles injections?

A: The two can’t be compared. Profhilo isn’t administered to the forehead for a start.

The effects of Profhilo feel more subtle compared to anti-wrinkles injections or even fillers, as the treatment is designed to give the complexion an overall boost rather than to "remodel" the face.

Q: Is Profhilo safe?

A: Profhilo is considered a safe treatment when administered by a trained and qualified healthcare professional. However, as with any medical procedure, there may be risks and potential side effects, such as redness, swelling, bruising, and mild discomfort at the injection sites. These side effects are usually temporary and resolve on their own.

Q: How is Profhilo administered?

A: The five injection points on each side of the face for Profhilo using the BAP technique are the upper cheek, nasal base, lower cheek, jawline, and chin. The Profhilo BAP technique was clinically tested to ensure maximum efficiency and patient comfort.

A: Is there any downtime?

A: Not really. You can see the injection sites closely, but nobody else noticed.

A: Can Profhilo be permanent?

A: Unfortunately, Profhilo is not permanent. Typically, Profhilo treatment lasts for about six months. It will help you look youthful and vibrant during those three to six months. The treatment should be repeated every six months for the best results.
